Loved this- I live in Charleston, SC where it gets really hot and humid- with AC blasting! So scarves are a lovely way to add to the basic tshirt/tank and shorts/skirt uniform of summer.
I love scarves so much and have drawers full of them. My favorites are a range of tie-dyed gauzy cashmere scarves with frayed edges that Tomas Maier did for Bottega Veneta—bought every color! However, I had to stop buying scarves because I live in Los Angeles and rarely can wear them without feeling ridiculous. Still can’t help buying them from local artisans when I travel though.
Oh I hear you! I want to wear them in the summer too and I love the tie-dyed Sarti scarves, do you know that brand? I have so many of them. The Row did some wispy ombré ones as well. 😋
I don’t know Sarti but will check it out. The wispy Row ombré scarves were super similar to my old BV ones, which prompted me to pull those out. Love when I can rewear things rather than spend money 😂
Did you see that post about The Row is selling Charvet socks? https://substack.com/@consideryourselfcultured/note/c-101554187 Maybe it’s the same story with the scarves? And Charvet slippers were in fw 2015 collection — back when The Row didn’t have their own shoes yet.
I always say that it is in the accessories that make or break the outfit. Thank you for highlighting Yaser Shaw and his craftsmanship...I own the SS LV scarf but it was an image of Sofia Coppola wearing it in Paris that made me want to own it...Another classic beauty who has fine tuned her style along the big hitter classics but always with a twist...( no doubt with a stunning scarf)
Loved the article Neelam and you look striking in each and every scarf you drape — I’ve loved Dries for ages but thanks to you I’ve recently discovered the beauty of Yaser Shaw (a new addiction in the making) ♥️
Tempted to explore more color and pattern now via scarves! Thank you for your ever-inspiring take. I particularly loved your Yaser story + scarf. So special!
Love this, scarves deserve all the recognition for being the unsung heroes that they are! The ones you’ve highlighted here are all gorgeous, and feel both fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Inspired to do a bit of digging through the archives
I love how a scarf color doesn’t need to match your everyday chosen colors and yours truly pops! A Yasir shawl is like no other and massive thank you for sharing ❤️
Oh it was a struggle to decide which one to take home!! In the chat group we talk about comfy shoes all the time. Soft loafers, Cary, Canal, all comfy. And of course, I love my Marie sneakers.
Neeti I gotta tell you I struggled with the decision! I LOVED that scarf but because of my East Indian heritage, I thought it might come across as a bit on the nose. There was another one I wanted too but Yaser discouraged me from taking both. He said, one at a time is special and then it gives you something to look forward to for the next time. 🥰

Shop your closet first is my motto. 😉
Loved the scarf you choose from Yaser Shaw! Check print with floral embroidery looks unusually gorgeous! Your collection is amazing!
Thank you so much luv, it’s such a joy to collect these special pieces.❤️
This is such an informative post — thank you. Now off to do some internet searching for some scarves!
Thanks Zara, enjoy the hunt! Hope you’re doing well. Xoxo

Thank you! That would be wonderful! Though I think since they’re making their own version of Charvet scarves now, maybe not. Both are beautiful.

Unsung heroes indeed. Transforms an outfit in a pinch! It’s exciting to have something to hunt for. Have fun!! 🥰
It might just be time for my first scarf! Have never been interested.....before now 😘 Loved the read, Neelam - Thank You!
You’re very welcome lovely lady! Did you see the few in the chat for sale?! We’re lucky to have this hive!! 🤍
Gasp! I didn't! Flyin' over there now! Was bizzee looking at the beauties in your links 😁
Well I appreciate that!! 😂❤️

💯 does not need to match and I think if one can get over that, the gate is wide open!
What a great article, thank you Neelam! I love the shawl scarf you choose, the colors are just beautiful on you x
Thanks so much Elise 🤍 - I’m so happy with it too. More to come I’m sure haha!
I LOVE the YS you chose.
Thanks, Soph! I wanted so many of them 😅 and it took a long time to decide on this one, but I’m thrilled with my purchase and can’t wait to add more.
Love this! I have the same LV Sprouse 🧣
It’s sooo nice and light! All the Olsen scarves are weightless. It seems to be a requirement for them. :)
Gah!!! In love with this post. The Yaser Shaw shawl you went home with is gorgeous!!
(Sidenote: what would you say are the most comfortable, walkable TR shoes or boots you have?)

I am absolutely in love with the khaki Yaser Shaw shawl in the first image. Such a wonderful color!

Oh that would have been perfectly on the nose! I love purchases like that. They feel like an inside joke every time you wear them.
That’s a great way to view it 😂
