Great article, especially appreciate the lift and compression. This is always a challenge for me to find a bra that provides the right lift and compression while being comfortable. I'm definitely going to give the compression bra recommendation a try. Thank you as always!
It took me a while to figure this out. One day, after a workout, I was thinking how much I liked the way I looked in my tee and thought, why not wear this bra on top of the other. Life changed, for the better! 😂
I’m 5 foot 7 and although I wish I were taller sometimes, when it comes to clothes purchased off the rack, I never need to hem anything. And for that I am grateful. Another thing, I am plus-sized (size 18-20) and have lost 35 lbs in the past few months. And at first I held off buying clothes because I figured I’d be going down in size. But the truth is I love the way my clothes fit now. More comfortable of course, but also slouchier and cooler. Larger women are always told to avoid oversized clothes but I hate when shoulders look too narrow etc. Or fabric pulls, etc. Just doesn’t look or feel comfortable. So although I look forward to wearing smaller sizes so I have more options, I’ve gotten over being judged by the size I wear.
Thank you for the breakdown Neelam! I noticed this sports bra effect too, but not there yet to compress it on a daily! Curious if there are any similar vibe brands or outfits that are bigger bust friendly. Seems there should be but I have not seen many!
i love bold color and prints but i love to borrow these cues from my minimalist “friends in my head”. will be on the lookout for coats that kiss the floor moving forward. thank you.
This is great Neelam! I was just going to give a shout out to those jeans today, I found them on sale and since I have been to scared to hem my Eglittas took the plunge with the Re-Dones I love them. I had to size down 2 (27 to 25) but my other Redones are rather fitted. Thanks for your tips always!
Threw on my most voluminous button-up w. some loose trousers today bcs of this post! You really nail the tweaks that keep things looking oversize/relaxed without overwhelming a shorter frame 🥰🥰
Loved this! So much helpful information. I actually dread getting my pants hemmed. So difficult to be absolutely sure on the length and it doesn’t help when the tailor argues with me. He/she thinks I’m crazy for erring on the longer side.
Sizing up on coats was a game changer for me! Most of my dress shirts for the office are longer and over sized. I now play with proportion with tailored pants or using belts to sort of blend into the numbing corporate dress code ! As always, such brilliant writing! So much that resonates ❤️
I’m happy these tips have helped, sizing up is something that takes time to get used to but once you do it, you’ll wonder why you ever fussed about it before. It leaves you more options when shopping too. Size medium sold out? No problem, get the large. Mind you, depends on the style.
Love this—especially the part about coats and pants kissing the floor! I always notice this detail, maybe because at 5’2” it’s the reality of almost everything I wear…

Me too - and I’ve ordered both the compression and support bras linked here ;).

Haha!! Same, it’s a running joke between me and my tailor as well! 😂

Oh totally! And also this idea that clothes ‘fitting you’ means closer to the skin! And the shame when that makes you look like a sausage roll 🤦♀️
😂
So helpful. Ty, Neelam❤️
You’re most welcome!!
Thanks Neelam! Excited to get my new jeans 😜.....and as always, for sharing your tips❣️
Oh I hope you like them!! Keep me up to date in the chat. Xo
